AB Behar and Hest discuss the opportunities available with investment in frontier markets. The global economy is in the midst of reconfiguration, with increasing contributions from outside the United States creating more opportunities for investors. Investors need to think about taking advantage of the changing composition of growth economies in world markets. However, they find that most investors demonstrate a home country bias and allocate a disproportionate share of their investments to domestic assets. This will reduce their opportunities to potentially benefit from exposure to global markets.
